Well here goes, after tinkering on WARDB with the builders I've ended up with a class build and a renown build I'm considering trying out for going as main tank. This is my first EVER attempt at making a S&S tank Spec, so be nice(er)

of course I need to get gear for it, and slot as many wounds/tougness/block talis as I can make/get my hands on (and thats a fair few) - planning on keeping Kamenra Talis.

Now I just need to figure out some way to do my Actionbars so they won't screw up every time I shift builds...I already use all five :p (Like an AddOn that lets me save a set of AAction Bars, kinda like closetgoblin does for gear, or moralebar)

Class Build: http://www.wardb.com/career.aspx?id=17#5:0:15:43528:0:0:25:9043:9069:90 64:503:14117:14116:15119:9056:611:610:9075

Renown Build: http://www.wardb.com/renown.aspx?id=17

Basically renown build maxes Toughness, ap gain from killing(maybe switch for morale loss from killing), Res Def, and 2xBlock.

Both builds taken to RR60 (class build will take Khaine - Sapping Strike+1 pts Khaine tree)

So am I completely barking mad, or just completely delusional...?

(in making this build, not in life in general)

Hey mate, I don't play an SM but would like to contribute in terms of what SM may be able to contribute as far as group utility in RVR. The way I spec in RVR personally I always try to think about the group first, and the abilities I could bring to aid the members.

First of all Morale 4 on Vaul is really great. However in a case of warband/orvr you rarely get to fire M4. Even if you use morale pot, build time plus the quick action in RVR (how regularly you would use the ability) versus the cost spent on that mastery is something that is worth examining.

For RVR I really like Whispering Wind and that really seems to be a great utility.

I'm not an expert and I don't have enough info about SM. So provided my limited knowledge and experience, at RR60 I'm looking into this spec:
http://www.wardb.com/career.aspx?id=17#0:0:13:8192:13:8192:25:9043:::50 3:14117:14116:15119:9056:611:610

Probably that spec would make you miss a bunch of other tactics and spells that bring out the most out of an SM.

I do think SM could be revamped more in terms of group utilities. As a knight we have plenty. But knights can also envy stuff like the block/parry rate and absorb. Though I feel for the SMs calling for more help, such as the one I read from: http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323735

Asking Snowy and Karill/Kiltz on this would be better.

Well morale4 wise I was mainly thinking scen and keep defense/Attack. Keeps are great for building to M4

Plus getting some of the abb/tactics in trees below seems useful to me. Since most S&S SMs, I believe, already go Whispering Wind I was thinking of going Vaul tree to try that.

Gearwise I was thinking 3/3 Darkpromise/Invader - going for best Toughness/wounds Combo. And the melle/magic absorb pocket items for LotD are a must. Where are they?

Slot Kamenra, not bother with crit talis, maybe Odjira for laughs. Go Toughness/wounds talis all round and slot Block talis in a LotD shield when I get my grubby hands on one.

Going for the Jewelry set from LotD seems fitting, at least untill I need the cloak/jewel slot for warlord/sovereign sets

I am already nearly useless, now shooting for complete waste of space status

Heard at an SM AA Meeting:

"Hello, my name is Aelahin, and I've been a DPS Swordmaster for nearly a year now. I've been 2Hander-free for nearly a week, and hope with support from the gods(mythic) I can be a boon to my community. But until that glorious day...Ah who am I kidding - gimme that 2H - Kill Kill Kill."

This build is intended for tomb/dungeon use and semi-rare RvR - A SM with a shield looks wrong, just wrong I tell you. It's mainly to expand my options and uselfulness, but main will be 2H Khaine Spec.

Now on to the Gear Hunt, need to decide what three pieces of DP gear to get...

Oh I don't like that build though it's 1 or the other I mean go Whispering Wind or Crashing Wave. For bomb squad groups though, Crashing Wave is more useful because it's like resolute defense for a few seconds every 20 seconds as opposed to resolute defense the 5min cd skill.

There is also no need to get as high as Shield of Valor in Vaul up to Crashing Wave is fine. You can still choose to take some Khaine skills since it frees some points (although I doubt you can get it as high as Ether Dance which is really a fun finishing blow) but normally I'd opt for Hoeth since Hoeth skills you can always use s&s or 2h. But it's like the midway damage-wise if you do use a 2h more for CC and harassment, high price to pay for silence skill.

http://www.wardb.com/career.aspx?id=17#0:0:7:8:13:8864:25:9043:9070:906 4:503:14117:14115:15119:9056:611:610

Maybe get as high as Crushing Advance in Vaul. You can always remove calming winds for pve of course.

But since you say it's so common to go Hoeth, with Khaine:

with balanced accuracy and deep incision or just get higher Khaine points and use nature's blade for group buff with potent enchantments for an aoe dot through the renown points every 10 rr levels. Rather exotic combination. xD

And the melle/magic absorb pocket items for LotD are a must. Where are they?.

Those are great pocket items. 5 minute cooldown. 20s duration of buff (i think) 3500 damage absorb.

For the melee absorb you can get it in Tomb of the Stars
While the magic absorb in in Tomb of Moon

Fun, fun!!!
