Hi all,
Hot on the heels of the last big change to the guild (the tax increase), comes another big change!
I am "flattening" the officer structure in the guild to create just a single Officer rank. Our current setup (with Captains and Officers) has served us well, but the time is right for a change. The new Officer rank will effectively have all of the powers of the current Captain rank (i.e. this is essentially a promotion for every current Officer) and this change means that the guild should run even more smoothly. Now you don't need to wait for a Captain to upgrade our keeps, all Officers will all be able to do this.
This change also reduces the layers between me and the guild members. I hope this helps everyone feel even more comfortable approaching me directly with problems or questions about the guild.
We are still considering how to set up the rest of the ranks in the guild, but this change at least marks the beginning of our restructuring. I would like to thank all of the guild Officers for their strong contribution to the guild. Your dedication and hard work made this decision very, very easy.
I'll be monitoring the impact of this change to the Officer ranks very carefully over the next few weeks. Please let me know how you feel it is working for the guild.
