And now some explanation...

Why did we end up with Order?

The vote was extremely close, with 10 voting for destruction and 9 voting for Order. However, Matt swapped his vote from Destruction to Order after testing things himself in beta and therefore swung the balance (by one measly vote!) to Order. Note that for all the Destro voters we will definitely be playing both sides! Please join us for the first weeks of launch on the side of Order, even if it's just to get to know your enemies better! ;)

Why this server?

The Core ruleset English servers are:

Axe Bite Pass
Karag Dron
Karag Orrud
Karak Eight Peaks
Karak Ungor
Karak-Azgal
Karak-Hirn
Karak-Izor
Karak-Norn
Karak-Vlag
Karaz-a-Karak

I picked one at random! Note that there is a large number of ex-DAoC guilds moving to one server together, so we may want to join that server with our Destro alts after the name of the server is made public. If anyone hates the name of the server I've picked, please tell me quickly and tell me which one we should have picked! ;)

Hi all, i'm thinking of going bright wiz even though i keep blowing myself up lol or maybe a witch hunter but my preferred choice is destro, no offence to you guys who wanna go order but what i have seen in closed beta and this open beta, like DaoC Order is now the albion of the game, but anyway that my little strop out of the way i will be making an order on your server apart from that, may my black orc's big ol' choppa cut the order down to size:P

I spammed in email, but again, I think we should throw out one server name for destro alts as well, Not necessarily for B&Q, but just a place where B&Q folks can mess with "the dark side" together if they want to. Plus, if we predicted horribly wrong on balancing (which I doubt), there will be no hesitation, we can just switch.

Since we can seed alts all over, it would be nice to have one other server for Destro alts to throw down and boogie :flame:

Could easily be true, Cal. As we have said, we definitely plan to play both sides - so if you don't mind starting out on Order for the first week or two so that we can all get playing together again?

I think we should throw out one server name for destro alts as well

If it's OK, I suggest we wait for 1 week after launch to see which server is most underpopulated for Destruction. That way, we can join the server with most opponents for us! If people can't wait one week to roll Destro, please post here with your server so that we can join the same one!

Each time I have logged on in OB the server selection screen tends to show order as low and Destruct as Medium. If this is population then it would indicate in OB at least that Destuct is more numerous.

No idea how release will pan out but there seem to be fun classes on both sides and I am not wed to one side

Would be good if Baz or someone with CE checks the server stats and sees that the chosen server has high order and low destruct populations then to switch to one with low order population and high destruct then we can all move there (should check back here to make sure where we are :) ).

From what I see, the new players will get recommended a server which will help recitify the imbalences especially if they have no preferences for which one they want to play.

Something they never did in the early days of DAOC.

Hi all, not long now (well for those with the CE) Muwhahahaha:beer: will our destruction be going on a core server like the alliance oops albion damnit i mean order or a rp core or open rvr? just a thought, ohh i must comment on GOA's effort last night night on the code entry i got an email withing a minute back so a little pat on the back the for them, i hope they(goa) have learnt a valuable leason there? my bright wizard will be called RYZARE.

Ok looks like Baz'z random pick? Is actually the new DAOC server, I logged in at 9am and checked stuff and it already had a long queue on destruction and high on order which is great !!

I checked FH and it looks like alot of the old guilds are using this one as a baz so nice 'pick' baz ;)

Because I was “fortunate” enough to actually be at home at 9:30 this morning (our 3yr old has school at 9:15am) after dropping jake off at school, and the fact I had to put in an 11 hour day on Saturday, I thought I would log in and register some names on Eight Peaks.

First off, that server was already completely full for Destro, and Order was listed as “High” at 9:30am.

Second, setting up the character was fine, but the server was chock full when Iactually logged in. I wandered over to see the first PQ for the Elves and there was about 20-30 ppl running a PQ that should have ideally about 8-10.

Saw loads of White Lion and Arch mages.

Anyway, I’ll re-post a version of this on the web site, since I believe we now need a good list of names where we can contact people.

BTW, rolled 2 chars: a Sword Maiden “Snowy” and my typical “Polemides” the Warrior Priest. I do plan on sticking with the SM as a tank though.

All the servers are the same, I'm afraid.

Caps will be slowly raised, but I think we just have to accept that for the first few weeks all of the servers will have a wait to get on them.

All I can suggest is that you log in as soon as you get home and then go get dinner/out of work clothes/showered/whatever. By the time you return to the PC you'll be in.

PS. The wait time is pretty inaccurate - I was told that I had a 40 minute wait at the peak of CE headstart and only had to wait 15 mins.

yes it seems to be very strange glitches going on with it right now - the graphics card is going crazy (i think)
it either crashes or i get freezes for short periods - or the screen goes funny and it shows the underlying textures (i doubt ive explained that problem well)

im using a Asus EAH 3870 512mb DDR4 card (which is a radeon supported card iirc) drivers are all updated
but my systems has been crashing both WoW and now warhammer :(

if anyone knows anything helpful would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a driver problem. I don't know ATI cards, but look around for a different driver (older windows certified maybe) and see if it's any better.

well got the box today so decided to see if a fresh install / patch up would help

so this was my evening

2 hours install
2 hours patch
20 mins queue
2 mins play
crash
20 mins queue

the crashes wouldnt be so bad if i skip the queue ;(

i will be soon - i dont have the tech knowledge to replace a card but i installed it on my dads PC to see if his card will run it (and it will) so ill likely swap mine and his around and send mine back for testing
